Thomas Dennis, M.D.

Dr. Tom Dennis has been practicing orthopaedics and hand surgery in the Annapolis area since 1991. He specializes in orthopaedic problems of the hand, elbow and shoulder and pediatric upper extremity.

Dr. Dennis grew up at the Jersey shore and graduated from Rutgers College with high honors in 1981. He received his doctorate at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly Rutgers Med School) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He graduated in 1985, and then completed five years of orthopaedic residency at the same facility. He completed his formal medical training with a Hand Fellowship at the Joseph H. Boyes Foundation at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1991.

Dr. Dennis became a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon in 1993, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He obtained his Certification of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery in 1995 and in 1996 was elected into membership of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has been on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center since 1991. He is the past Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at AAMC. He also served 2 terms on the Medical Executive Committee and was the previous Associate Chief of Orthopaedics.

Dr. Dennis is married and has three daughters. When not at work, he can usually be found on the sidelines of his children's sporting events. Dr. Dennis enjoys snowboarding, barefoot waterskiing and spending time on the water with his family.

Molly Ferris, MSOTR/L CHT

Molly Ferris is a Senior Hand Therapist with the Annapolis Hand Center. She has 29 years experience as an occupational therapist, specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation for the last 20 years. She earned her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and holds a Certified Hand Therapist license since 1999. Molly has extensive experience working with burn trauma patients, outpatient rehabilitation in orthopedic and hand surgery clinics, and elementary school-based therapy. She was also the sole hand therapist on the Johns Hopkins Transplant team, responsible for rehabilitating the first bilateral upper extremity arm transplant recipient at Johns Hopkins Hospital (2013).

Molly enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 3 children traveling, hiking, paddle-boarding and swimming. Molly’s current interests include taking online Coursera classes and Kettlebell workouts. (Certified kettlebell instructor 2008)

Kristin Abboud, OTR/L CHT

Kristin graduated from St. Louis University, in St. Louis, Missouri with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1996. She became a hand therapist in 2001 and has worked in a variety of orthopaedic settings. This has included outpatient hand therapy at major medical centers as well as private practice in therapy clinics where she treated a variety of congenital, traumatic and acquired orthopaedic conditions affecting the upper extremity. She has published and collaborated on many research projects, and has given multiple presentations on various hand therapy topics to medical residents and fellows, groups of hand therapists and the community.

She enjoys working with each patient and assisting them on their journey to recovery. Kristin engages in continuing education and self- study courses to keep her updated on treatment advances. She also strives to develop a friendly and supportive therapeutic relationship with each patient. When not working, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, traveling and gardening.
